Burrrrp! And again.....BURRRRRP! Sigh....whoa boy...I have been a total glutton ever since I came back. I have been eating everything in sight...it is a usual thing for me because this happens everytime I touch down back in Malaysia. I turn into a very, very, hungry pig. If there was ever one good thing in Malaysia, I swear it is the food. Here in this little peninsular jutting out of Asia, you have the best food from the corners of Asia - the local Malay, the far East and Western Asia cuisine(see Rip Note below).
Ever since I returned, I have eaten beef, chicken, prawns, crab and tonight, oyster! Anyway, after tonight's dinner I drove back home, opened the gate and this dead leaf fell on my shoulder. I took no notice of it because it's just a freaking dead leaf, right? Then all of a sudden, this dead leaf crawled onto my chest. I thought "what the f..." and that dead leaf turned out to be a yellow spotted greenish huge mother-of-a-lizard staring into my eyes as if it wanted a piece of my nose. I seem to attract the weirdest females! So this lizard was grabbing my tits, asking me wassup with that oyster breath. What do I do? Shriek like a chick and call out for Mom? Nope. My immediate automatic reaction was to smack the slithery molester scum off my chest but now when I come to think of it, I should've eaten the damn thing too. After all, I'm on an eat-everything-in-sight mission for the next few days.
I'm feeling really funny about having been in 3 different countries in the last one week. Wish I could keep everyone together but I am now so far away.
Save that URL link to Finland maps on the right side if you want because I will delete it soon.
Rip Note :
Malaysia consists of mainly 3 ethnic groups - Malays, Chinese and Indians. So, if you take your food seriously, you are in Asian food heaven. You'll have the opportunity to whet your tongues with a cultural fusion of Asian food(Malay+Chinese, Chinese+Indian or Indian+Malay), authentic original Chinese, Malay or Indian food, and since Thailand is right next door...even yummy Thai food. It's a wonder I'm not a fat tub of lard.
Hmmmmm...
Thanks for the call lasy weet, was cool to chat, and again, apologies for not getting my sorry arse (not that I feel I should mention arses in your company!) down sarf, but that bitch commonly known as studies was a'callin.' I've taken heed to your comments on TEFL, and Taiwan, may try and earn some pre-NZ cash there rather than here, which would also mean a visit to that small south asian peninsula you call home will be in order. If you have any hints on teaching around there, even in KL, let me know, could end up blagging work through you, borrowing pillows, and drinking the odd bottle of cheap-ass gin! (there I go mentioning asses again!)
Take it easier...

Posted by: ripcord at April 2, 2004 06:19 PMMan, you make me jealous. I beg you, please don't write about food again. I am salivating, it is not normal.
3 countries in a week. Spoilt.
Next time you are in Europe, come over to Cologne, if I have not put you off Germany yet. And that's if I am still here which you should not bank on. Nonetheless, offer is opened to whichever spot on the map, as I know you suffer from itchy feet. It takes one to know one.
Try me.
Bohemian soul. N

THIS MEANS WAR!
Ripcord,
when I said SPOILKT - I meant it in the "dry English humour way" and not at all judging you. Don't jump the gun and say I am judging you. At least I have not wasted my breath judging anybody UNLESS they are hurtful to me.
Anyways, it was TONGUE AND CHEEK and not siad seriously AT ALL: I have travelled the world too and knows that 3 countries in one day is not spoilt at all. I live in Cologne and we can go to France,Luxembourg, Holland, Belgium and Germany in one day....
:)))
Posted by: Nina at April 4, 2004 09:14 PMwhich island? i just got back from Redang about a week back. its not as beautiful as it was 6 years ago :( alot of corals around the berjaya resort beach are dead (thanks to those stupid tourist who thinks its ok to step on the corals). although i did get to have a short snorkel trip over at the shark bay which is located at pasir panjang. that area is still looking good.
i keep hearing about this island off Redang, called Lang Tengah. supposedly better than Redang. give me a call when you decide.
Posted by: Chee Yong at April 5, 2004 01:09 AMnina : yeah i jumped the gun! been getting a lot of flak from prejudiced malaysians whose immediate conclusion was that i'm spending my rich dad's cash to travel(i.e.spoilt) when they don't know the sacrifices i make. i'm sure you know the usual malaysian mentality. so you can see now why i was a tad bit defensive. ;) and like i told you, i know you were not serious about that statement so no worries yeah!
chee yong : kan ni neh! just came back from an island and you want to go to another one? when are u able to go? anytime? jobless like me? think i'm gonna head to the east coast soon so stay tuned...
Posted by: ripcord at April 5, 2004 01:51 AMSpending daddy's money? that would be a step too far for me to think it.malaysian mentality sucks. i m all for independence ...i m mixed race and take only the best out of malaysia..
don'T worry i will not be assuming.
seems like some tensions running out of hand .. heheheh.. but all is good now ....smile people
