Location : London, England.
You're too late. This blog has gone on a hiatus for an unknown period of time, ideally about a month. The whole LittleNomad.com website will still be online but there will be no further entry posts for the time being. What can you do here?
1. Read my highlighted past entries in the Archives if you're bored out of your wits. Use the drop-down menu on the right to read all my other entries.
2. Subscribe your email to the mailing list to be notified of the next entry. The submission box is located at the navigation bar on the right. An email will be sent out everytime I update this blog.
3. Sign the Guestbook.
4. Contact me.
5. Browse through the Photo Album.
6. See my Curriculum Vitae.
7. If you like peering into other people's lives, read the other blogs I've listed at navigational bar on the right.
This is a huge website and it has been a large part of my life. There are 246 entries posted on this blog, 2034 comments and about a thousand photographs in the album, each one of them captioned. I have created, designed, streamlined, written, maintained, improved and managed this whole website on my own for the last 2 years. Thanks for your interest in this blog but I need a break.
Today is exactly 2 months since I've been here in London, England. This is a short update on what's been happening before the hiatus :-
1. Landed in London 6th May 2005, curious about my future here.
2. Made to wait more than a month for a casual job. Verbal appointment.
3. Job taken away from me 10 days before start date, until further notice.
4. Lost love, emotionally down.
5. Attended Live 8 in Hyde Park.
6. Going to try getting hired one last time, hence the need for a break.
Due to my past London experience(2001-2003) having spent 1.5 years of my life applying about 120 I.T. jobs through *every available channel and not getting a single interview, I'm starting to think it was a mistake coming back to try again after having been travelling the last 2 years. My determination might have been just plain stupidity because no one here will give me a chance to prove myself. As of now, I have made about 25 online I.T. job applications with not a single reply. When my casual job was taken away from me, I thought it was the last straw. I seem to be more impatient than before but that's probably because my last attempt here was really demoralising and I feel unprepared to go through the same hard times. However, I'm going to give it one last shot so I really need this break.
I don't know what will come out of it but these are my current contentions :-
1. return to Malaysia. Not prepared to stay here & struggle to make ends meet with a casual job.
2. get out of London, either to Cornwall/Devon or head up north - Scotland or Ireland? There should be a trip to Ireland coming soon.
3. walk into every recruitment agency in London(did this in 2001).
4. spend the summer surfing here, then return to surf in Malaysia in October.
5. become a paparazzi. kidding.
So for all you know, the next time I update this website, it might be from Malaysia or...? Check back again on the 6th of August. This blog has enjoyed amazing traffic and interaction with its readers and as the author, I thank you for that! If I don't return, I hope you guys have enjoyed reading all my exploits. But I think I will.
*job agencies, graduate recruitment fairs, online job applications, applying directly through post and following up with a thank you card, etc.

Hey Edwin,
How's life been? Read that Life has been up and down for you there... Anyway that's Life - It's all about the Chalenges up ahead... We all never know what will happen next. Anyway, wishing you the best of luck in getting a job soon there, but nevertheless if you need help getting an IT job here in KL, I may be able to hook you up with some of my friends IT companies. Just let me know so I can refer you to them.
Take care and hope to catch up with you soon...

I hope that you and all your friends are all ok. It's a shame that this is your last post for a while, especially as you have pleasantly colourful ways of reporting such events as the recent london blasts.
Take care mate and looking forward to our snowboarding session next week.

Posted by: VIRGIN at July 7, 2005 01:18 PMThe last time I lived here and I was travelling to work everyday using the Tube, I was always worried of being caught up in a terrorist attack. Well, it has happened today. I think I must have 6 lives left :-
1. Was in Indonesia the day the JW Marriott hotel was bombed.
2. Was meant to be on a surfing holiday in Sri Lanka when the tsunami disaster struck but I remained surfing in Malaysia instead.
3. Was meant to go down to job recruitment agencies in central London this morning but I didn't because of home commitments. Now I hear buses and tubes in central London were bombed.
I'm still alive with all limbs intact. Thanks for the concern. Again, I re-assert my last post - Live life everyday as if it was your last. You never know when you go on to the afterlife...or you lose that someone and it becomes too late. Life is too short to risk a regret, or live with one.
Posted by: Ripcord at July 7, 2005 04:47 PM:)
6 lives....i hope no...not 6 more terrorist attacks or disaster...
glad that you are alright...
cheers
May the force be with you

Good luck with the job hunt in London.
and stay ssafe out there.
zbjernak : if i die in a terrorist attack, it would be such a waste because i would very much rather die surfing!
fake : i'm still alive with all limbs intact so i can still paddle out into the surf and stand on a board!

Posted by: Aurora at July 16, 2005 01:39 AMDude
another stupid bomb.
watch your back over there...
my (constantly dazed and confused) bro in law is in London...but i dont know if he can be of much help though :P
Yesterday afternoon, I left one of the tube stations about 20 minutes before the first failed bombing so I missed the action in central London by just a bit.
This morning, I arrived at a tube station in central London about 30 minutes after suspected suicide bomber was shot dead. I was caught up in the chaotic commotion around there but I'm ok. I was stranded in central London among huge crowds because the whole area was closed down and cordoned off. I wondered if anyone near me was going to detonate another bomb. Scary.
Posted by: Ripcord at July 22, 2005 07:29 PMYou realised last time in London: itīs a dangerous city. But at this moment itīs really true. I hope you are ok. Look for a Job near your accomodation, no tube, no bus!!
hey there...hope u r ok in london
